Prof. TATIANA IANCHEVA, D.Sc.
Prof. Iancheva is Vice Rector in charge of the Scientific and International Affairs at the NSA “Vassil Levski”. She is a Professor of Sports Psychology at the Department of Psychology, Pedagogy and Sociology at the National Sports Academy (NSA) “Vasil Levski”, Bulgaria.; Lecturer at the European Rhythmic Gymnastics Federation (UEG); Lecturer at the UEFA Football Coaching School; Head of the Department of Psychology, Pedagogy and Sociology, Faculty of Education, NSA; Programme Director of the Master program in Sports Journalism;
Prof. Iancheva is a member of the Management Board of the Society of Psychologists in Bulgaria, the Union of Scientists in Bulgaria, the Bulgarian Association of Sports Sciences. In addition, she is a chairman of The Scientific Committee of the Bulgarian Rhythmic Gymnastics Federation and the Expert Council on Scientific and International Activities.
Her extensive editorial experience includes Editor-in-Chief of the Sports and Development Library (2002 – 2010) and of the Bulgarian Psychology Journal (2005 – 2017), while currently Prof. Iancheva is an Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Applied Sports Sciences.
Furthermore, Prof. Iancheva was a Member of the Management Board (2003 – 2008) and a President (2008 – 2017) of Special Olympics Bulgaria. Since 1990 she is a Member of the Board of Directors of the Bulgarian Rhythmic Gymnastics Federation.
Prof. Iancheva is highly committed to supporting the students of NSA to develop their full potential. She is a thesis supervisor of 18 PhD students (10 Bulgarian and 8 foreign students) and 28 graduate students. She has a distinguished record of more than 160 academic publications. She is an author of seven books.
Among her achievements are World Vice-champion in Rhythmic Gymnastics (1977), Merited Master of Sport of Bulgaria (1977), European Rhythmic Gymnastics Champion (1978), Bronze Medal at the World Rhythmic Gymnastics Championship (1979).
With extensive practical experience, Prof. Iancheva is a dedicated partner to sport clubs, providing psychological consultancy to the Professional Football Club “Levski”, the National Rhythmic Gymnastics Team, Bulgaria’s national football team U17 and other sport teams (incl. in modern pentathlon, trampoline, judo, wrestling and tennis). She is a trainer at the Department of Social and Economic Affairs of the United Nations.
